AirAsia X appoints Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy as Chairman

AirAsia X (AAX) has appointed Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. As the new Chairman, he plans to focus on driving corporate growth strategies and overseeing the board and senior leadership team.

Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy initially joined AAX as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 27 June 2022. He will succeed Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, who held the Chairman role since 2013 and recently announced her resignation from the board, effective 1 July 2022.

Malachy McEnroe named as MAAS Aviation’s Chief Financial Officer

MAAS Aviation has announced the appointment of Malachy McEnroe as Chief Financial Officer.

An experienced international CFO and board member, McEnroe has worked in finance and business for over 25 years, most recently in the international logistics equipment leasing sector. As part of the company’s C-Suite Team and a board member, Malachy’s role at MAAS will focus on supporting the business growth strategy and future investments, while driving day-to-day financial and operational improvements.

McEnroe has held senior finance roles at both GE and HNA and served as a non-executive director at German-based international modular construction specialist, Cadolto GmbH. “MAAS has a great track record and an excellent market reputation. Their experienced and knowledgeable management team has a ‘can do’ attitude and serious growth ambitions. It was these attributes, combined with the support of a focused and committed investment Group in Egeria, that attracted me to join the business,” comments McEnroe. “We have exciting development plans, and I am looking forward to being part of that journey.”

McEnroe will be based between MAAS’ facilities in the Netherlands and Dublin but plans to have a strong presence at all of the Group’s operational facilities in Lithuania, Germany, and Alabama, USA.

ATR appoints Nathalie Tarnaud Laude as its new CEO

ATR announces that its Board Members, Airbus and Leonardo, have appointed the new Chief Executive Officer, Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, effective from 17 September. Nathalie succeeds Stefano Bortoli following the terms set by ATR’s bylaws. Stefano will take on a new leadership role at Leonardo that will be announced by the company in the upcoming days.

Nathalie Tarnaud Laude is currently NHIndustries’ President and Senior Vice President Head of the NH90 Programme for Airbus Helicopters. Prior to this, she held various senior positions at Airbus in strategy, programme, technology and finance. She brings strong strategic and leadership skills, as well as programme execution experience, essential to continue developing ATR as a leader in sustainable regional aviation. Nathalie joined Airbus in 2005 and holds a MBA from London Business School.

Deutsche Aircraft announces today the appointment of Anastasija Visnakova as its new VP Sales & Marketing, effective August 1st, 2022. Anastasija brings to Deutsche Aircraft over 15 years of aviation experience, gained both in the airline and aircraft OEM [Original Equipment Manufacturer] industries. Anastasija has held various executive positions in Air Baltic, Primera Air and DeHavilland Aircraft of Canada, focusing on sales, marketing, market development, and business development.

Leveraging her significant aviation and regional aviation experience, Anastasija will be responsible for all aircraft sales, including the D328eco™ aircraft, the legacy D328® aircraft, as well as overseeing marketing activities, overall communications and customer experience.

Anastasija Visnakova holds bachelor degrees in both social sciences and law. She is currently completing a LL.M. degree at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on Innovation and Technology. She also attended Harvard Business School and the Stockholm School of Economics, focusing on business administration, leadership and aviation management.

Deutsche Aircraft’s new D328eco™ is being developed to deliver significant improvements in operational and maintenance costs as well as reductions in the overall carbon footprint. This is in line with their vision and strategic road-map to support a more sustainable future for aviation. The D328eco™ will offer maximum flexibility from normal aviation fuel, to a blend, and up to 100% H2-PtL. H2PtL has a similar CO2 footprint compared with H2 direct burn.

The aircraft will be assembled in the paperless production line at Leipzig/Germany. All parameters are in high demand in the current aviation environment and we already see an increased interest in the D328eco™ from our potential customers and partners.

TrueNoord welcomes Vinay Kasturi and Julie Faverie to the team in new financial and legal positions

Specialist regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has announced two key appointments to complement their existing team. Julie Faverie officially joins the Dublin office as Legal Counsel, following a nine-month Legal Secondee position with the team. Whereas Vinay Kasturi will be based at TrueNoord’s Amsterdam office, holding the position of Financial Planning & Pricing Officer.

An experienced legal professional, Julie Faverie graduated from the University of Nice with a Master Degree in Private Law, before qualifying as a French Solicitor in 2014. Julie was then admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 2018. Most recently working as a solicitor with the aviation, commercial and corporate team at respected firm Flynn O’Driscoll, Julie was seconded to the TrueNoord Dublin team in October 2021. Now officially joining TrueNoord as a senior member of the legal team, Julie will play a key role in driving lease and financial negotiations as well as other legal matters, ensuring the efficient execution of transactions.

Julie is the first Legal Counsel to join TrueNoord’s office in Ireland, she will work closely with both the local Dublin team and TrueNoord’s legal team based at their Schiphol office. Julie is currently participating in the ISTAT Professional Development Program (PDP).

A seasoned financial expert, Vinay Kasturi has held a number of high-level international investment and transaction execution positions over the last ten years. Before joining TrueNoord, Vinay was Vice President at CDB Aviation Lease Finance in Dublin where he was an integral part of the team with key responsibilities for pricing, structuring and fleet strategy.

The new role of Financial Planning & Pricing Officer at TrueNoord is a highly analytical position focusing on strategy, investment and finance. Working in close collaboration with the senior management team, finance, sales and technical teams, Vinay will be pivotal in optimising transaction structures and pricing.

Vinay qualified as a mechanical engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati, before attaining a Post Graduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta in 2006. In 2017 he also studied at the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, gaining a MSc. in Aviation Finance.
