Safran has signed a five-year contract with Wizz Air to maintain the landing gear for 57 of its A320 family aircraft.

Commenting on the deal with Safran, Julia Brix, Head of Technical Services at Wizz Air, said: “Safran’s competitiveness for the offered services, its outstanding quality as the OEM for the Landing Gears as well as the commitments on reliability for our fleet were amongst the primary reasons for our decisions.”

Since signing the contract, Safran Landing Systems has already successfully completed the MRO operations of several landing gear legs belonging to the Wizz Air company.

Bruno Chiarelli, Executive Vice President, MRO of Safran Landing Systems, said: “We’re delighted to have been selected by Wizz Air for the landing gear overhaul of a large part of their Airbus A320 and A321 fleet.

“We have robust and modern industrial resources that allow us to accommodate the growing demand for MRO services, served by the expertise and know-how of our teams,” Chiarelli added.
