Fokker Services America, part of Fokker Services Group, has signed a FlightSense On-Site support agreement with RTX’s Collins Aerospace for Collins’ Integrated Drive Generators (IDGs) in order to meet the increasing demand for IDG repairs in America.

The agreement will give Fokker Services Group’s American operators a domestically available option for IDG repairs. It will also lead to an expansion, with the implementation of IDG repair capabilities, at its MRO facility in LaGrange, Georgia, USA. The company will also expand its inventory of Collins IDG components.

The establishment of this shop in America marks the creation of a second IDG repair facility within Fokker Services Group globally, following the certification of the IDG repair shop at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.

The IDG repair capability expansion in America will initially focus on repair and overhaul of Boeing 747, 757 and 767 aircraft. However, the company aims to expand its capabilities to other platforms, including additional Boeing platforms, Airbus, and Fokker.

Craig Winter, President and Managing Director of Fokker Services America, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to expand into repairing IDG in the USA in collaboration with Collins. I want to personally acknowledge the effort and energy everyone has put into this project to achieve this significant milestone.”

“By converting power from the engine into electric power for the aircraft, Collins integrated drive generators perform a critical role,” added Ryan Hudson, Vice President, Power and Controls Aftermarket for Collins. “This agreement will expand Collins IDG MRO services to Fokker customers in the US, providing them with reliable parts and services to help keep their planes in the air.”
