Canada’s Porter Airlines has launched five new routes to Florida. The services will operate daily roundtrip flights using the airline’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

The services include routes from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW), Miami (MIA), Orlando (MCO) and Tampa (TPA), as well as routes from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

“Canadians are used to flying to Florida, but not like this,” said Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Porter Airlines. “Porter’s all-economy onboard service is unmatched by any other carrier in North America. Whether that’s free Wi-Fi, no middle seats, free beer and wine alongside premium snacks, or fresh, healthy food, Porter is challenging the industry’s definition of economy air travel.

“We believe that time onboard our aircraft is just as important as at the destination,” he added.

The launch of the new routes from Toronto Pearson International Airport is part of the airline’s plans to continue its steady growth, now being above its pre-pandemic levels for traffic and revenue.

In addition to the new leisure routes, the airline announced further plans for growth in February, intending to open a new terminal and hub at Montréal Saint-Hubert, its second airport hub in Montréal.

The new 21,000-square-metre terminal is expected to be completed in 2024.
