Braathens Regional Airlines has recruited a new Head of Sustainability, Lars Resare.

Resare has an extensive background in aviation and energy, working for many years at SAS and more recently coming from one of Sweden’s largest fuel companies, OKQ8. He will be part of the airline’s sustainability journey and work on the conversion of aviation to net-zero. Resare will take up the post on 19 June.

“For many years, BRA has been at the forefront and has had a great focus on changing aviation. After the pandemic, the ambition has been raised further both in terms of target image, strategy and rate of change,” said Ulrika Matsgård, CEO at BRA.

“Lars is a dream recruit for us. He is one of the Nordic countries’ most experienced in aviation’s sustainability development, with both breadth and depth in his approach and in his competence. I am very happy that he has chosen to accept to lead our sustainability work into the next phase,” added Matsgård.

“It will be exciting to return to the aviation industry to once again contribute to the business-critical transformation required to continue aviation’s journey towards a lower climate impact,” commented Lars Resare, the incoming Head of Sustainability at BRA.

“The goals have been set, and now the full focus is on continuing to implement existing solutions and actively working on the development of solutions that have not yet been commercialised. The latter could, for example, involve using electricity stored in batteries or hydrogen as energy sources in the long term,” Resare said.
