Jersey-based regional airline Blue Islands is launching a new direct service to the Isle of Man from Jersey, specifically aimed at business travellers.

The route, which connects from Guernsey, will start on 23 April. It will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays on alternate weeks. The decision to launch this route follows a trial last year designed to assess its viability.

Rob Veron, CEO of Blue Islands, said,We’re excited to enhance connectivity for our Channel Islands business communities; a true strategic benefit for our islands, enabling fast and efficient travel with a new scheduled service between Guernsey / Jersey and the Isle of Man.”

The route is aimed to provide travellers with an easy connection to the Isle of Man, as current options are “time-consuming, often with long connections in the UK using multiple operators”, he added.

Jersey’s Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Deputy Kirsten Morel, said, The new Blue Islands route between Jersey and the Isle of Man is very welcome. Our jurisdictions are both leading centres for international financial services, so it’s great to see direct connectivity serving our business communities.”
