New Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet has officially launched ticket sales ahead of the airline’s first flight on 31 March 2024.

The airline was previously established in 2008 as AnadoluJet and worked to improve air transport links for Anatolia. Its rebrand was announced in November 2023 to offer a low-fare service to passengers, entering the market with an “innovative perspective.”

AJet will operate flights to 93 destinations, including 41 domestic routes and 52 international locations. The carrier has already announced network expansion, adding routes between Istanbul and London Stansted Airport, Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport, Ankara Esenboğa Airport, and Rome-Fiumicino Airport.

With its fleet of 95 aircraft, the airline will fly to 44 countries this summer and has plans to build its fleet to 200 aircraft within the next 10 years. Its fleet is a mix of Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 aircraft.

In a previous statement, Turkish Airlines Chairman Ahmet Bolat said: “We fully believe that AJet will become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale.”
