Aero Norway has appointed Neil Russell as its new CEO, taking over the position from Glenford Marston.

The CFM56 engine repair specialist is scheduling heavy maintenance programmes across the CFM56-5b and CFM56-7b engines throughout 2024.

Interesting times are ahead for MRO engine repair shops, as issues with new-generation engines are on the rise, putting greater pressure on demand for other engine types. But Aero Norway is prepared to respond to the rapid change in the global marketplace.

“Aero Norway is constantly pursuing greater efficiencies and looking for ways to improve processes to generate reduced turn-around-times and underpin the delivery of a range of full workscope options,” Russell said.

“As we move towards 2024, we are scheduling the facility with heavy engine maintenance programmes across primarily the CFM56-5b and -7b engines.”

Previously Chief Operating Officer at Aero Norway, Russell has 18 years of combined experience in managing Operations/Production, Engineering and Supply Chain/ Sourcing in the aviation and oil & gas industries.

The previous CEO, Glenford Marston, will remain a part of Aero Norway’s management team going forward.

“Neil is the ideal successor to the role of CEO, and I know he will take the business forward with confidence. Meanwhile, I anticipate sitting back face-to-face with our customers and finding new ways for Aero Norway to bring value to their engine assets,” Marston said.
