MRO specialist SR Technics has confirmed the extension of an engine maintenance partnership with Russia’s Ural Airlines for another six years, covering the carrier’s CFM56-5B-powered fleet.

The new contract will see services on the airline’s engines start in the second quarter of this year, with all work to be done at the SR Technics facilities in Zurich. The original agreement was signed in 2014.

Andrey Melnikov, head of budget planning and material support at Ural Airlines, said SR’s expertise and efficient approach was a key factor in the expansion of the CFM56-5B engine maintenance deal.

Michael Sattler, chief commercial officer at SR Technics, said the contract was “further proof of our capacity to adapt our service portfolio to the needs of our customers worldwide.”
