Low-fare carrier Transavia France, part of the Air France-KLM Group, has taken delivery of its first A320neo.

The aircraft, on lease from Avolon, will support the carrier’s fleet renewal strategy as it transitions to an all A320neo family fleet.

This A320neo delivery is part of Air France-KLM’s 2021 order for 100 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, with rights for 60 further aircraft. Transavia France expects to have 13 A320neo aircraft delivered by the end of 2024, which will join its fleet of Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

“The delivery of this first Airbus A320neo is a key step in the history of Transavia France. It marks the transition to an all-Airbus fleet at Transavia and embodies our commitment to further developing the operations of our low-cost brand. It is part of our large, long-term fleet investments, designed to improve our Group’s economic and environmental performance,” stated Benjamin Smith, CEO of Air France-KLM.

The A320neo delivers 20% fuel savings and will feature Airbus’s Airspace XL bins, which provide 40% more stowage space. The aircraft delivery flight was powered by a blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Paris-Orly airport.

Powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, the A320neo will have 186 seats in a single-class configuration. Its first commercial flight is scheduled for 15 January.
