Embraer has revealed four new order announcements at the Paris Air Show from airline customers Envoy Air and Binter Canarias and aircraft lessors Azorra and Avolon. The aircraft OEM also released its 20-year Market Outlook depicting commercial aircraft deliveries through 2042.
Among the orders was Binter, which placed a firm order for six Embraer E195-E2s at a list price of US$504.7 million; previously undisclosed customer Azorra, for 15 E195-E2s, valued at $1.2 billion; Avolon, as a sale and leaseback agreement with Porter Airlines, for 10 Embraer E195-E2s with a list price of $841 million; and American Airlines for seven E175s to be operated by its Texas-based subsidiary Envoy Air, valued at $403.4 million.
The highlights from Embraer’s 20-year Market Outlook, also announced during the media briefing at PAS, signified key trends for commercial aircraft deliveries through 2042 and identified expected demand for new jet and turboprop aircraft with up to 150 seats over the next two decades.
According to the report, key trends shaping the future demand for travel include fragmentation of the Global Economy, meaning how regionalisation of businesses and supply chains will change how goods and people move; remote workforces prompting air service in new communities; and the effect of sustainability, as well as the subsequent new fuels and technology, on-demand as this is all likely to increase the cost of flying over time.
