Taiwanese regional airline, Mandarin Airlines, has taken delivery of its first ATR 72-600 aircraft, equipped with PW127XT engines.

The delivery follows the airline’s order of six ATR 72-600s at the Paris Air Show in 2023. This new arrival builds upon its existing fleet of nine ATR 72-600. The PW127XT engines bring a 20% reduction in maintenance costs and 3% block fuel savings.

Located at Taipei Songshan Airport, Mandarin Airlines serves 10 domestic routes flying to eight destinations, which include Kinmen, Magong, and Matsu. It also serves several regional destinations in Asia and China, including Hong Kong and Ningbo.

This new batch of aircraft will enhance the regional airline’s operational capabilities and also bring additional capacity on regional routes.

At the Paris Air Show 2023, Mandarin Airlines Chairman, Kao Shing-Hwang, commented: “Expanding our ATR fleet will enable us to add capacity on existing routes and create new services to continue stimulating the local economy and tourism across Taiwan with the lowest emission regional aircraft.”
