LOT Polish Airlines will lease three new Embraer E195-Es jets from Azorra to accommodate its expansion as the airline’s network grows and to improve operational flexibility.

This order marks a significant move by the airline to modernise its fleet with the E2 jet. LOT currently has a fleet of 43 E-Jets, and is one of the largest operators of the aircraft in Europe.

“LOT is a pioneer airline, the global launch customer for the E-jets, and though 90 airlines have since operated the aircraft – the first is always special. LOT’s first move into the E2 is an important moment for Embraer,” said Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.

As the first operator of the brand new E-Jet in 2004, this latest order reaffirms the airline’s commitment to Embraer. Deliveries of the jets will take place between the end of July and September 2024, and LOT will configure the E195-E2 in a single-class layout with 136 seats.

“This strategic enhancement to our fleet not only marks our continued commitment to sustainable aviation but also celebrates our partnership with Embraer since the introduction of the first E-Jet in 2004,” added Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, said: “As an existing customer to Azorra, we’re proud to support LOT in its strategic growth and operation of one of the youngest fleets in Europe.”
