KLM UK has added the Boeing 737 MAX to its EASA Part 147 approval list, with the company saying it was a natural progression for the regional jet and narrow-body specialist.
The Norwich-based subsidiary of AFI KLM E&M has built up acknowledged maintenance training expertise on the B737, Embraer 170/190, BAe146/Avro RJ, Fokker 70/100 and Airbus A320 Family of aircraft.
Ray Flower, head of technical training, said: “This was the natural progression for us, after delivering Boeing 737 training for over 15 years on the Classic, followed by the Next Generation. With significant demand for both type and practical training for this product we look forward to offering solutions for 2019 onwards.”
The company’s training facility recently relocated to the International Aviation Academy Norwich, which is adjacent to the main base maintenance operation. The facility has been purpose built to accommodate aviation engineering training, with a B737, fully equipped workshops and classrooms.
