Finnair has announced plans to overhaul its regional Embraer fleet of E190s and introduce a new cabin design. The transformation, which is set to begin in early 2024 and continue into 2025, will include new seats and curtains, among other customer comforts.

The Nordic airline aims to implement the warm, comforting colours that can now be seen throughout the cabins of its long-haul aircraft, as well as within the airline’s non-Schengen lounges in Helsinki.

“We want to improve travel comfort and provide our customers with a high-quality travel experience across our route network,” said Ole Orvér, Chief Commercial Officer, Finnair. “We will bring similar elements and feeling to our Embraer fleet as we have used in our previously redesigned Airbus widebody aircraft.”

Following the cabin refurbishments of the 12-aircraft fleet, Finnair will welcome 100 passengers onboard its E190 aircraft, operated by Nordic Regional Airlines on behalf of Finnair, in the new configuration.
