Deutsche Aircraft has completed a wind tunnel testing campaign for its 328ALPHA technology demonstrator. The nine-week campaign was aimed at evaluating technologies that will reduce aviation emissions, such as electric propulsion, fuel cells and liquid hydrogen storage.

The wind tunnel test was conducted in the context of the LuFo VI-I Civil Aviation Research programme and was partially funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action.

The campaign evaluated combinations of propulsive power, stability, control and performance parameters over the expected flight envelope, with the outcome confirming prior analysis conducted via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thus allowing Deutsche Aircraft to refine an engineering flight simulator.
