Wizz Air has maintained its B rating in The Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) climate ranking for the second year in a row. Companies receive this score for environmental transparency and commitment to climate change action.

The CDP updated its criteria in 2024 to emphasise how companies manage climate-related risks and opportunities, progress towards emissions reduction targets, and overall environmental strategy.

“We are proud to once again be recognised by the Carbon Disclosure Project for our commitment to decarbonisation,” said Yvonne Moynihan, Corporate and ESG Officer at Wizz Air. “As the leading airline in carbon emission intensity reduction and climate disclosure, we recognise the critical role airlines must play in addressing environmental challenges and mobilising industry-wide change. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to making flying more environmentally responsible. Our mission is to educate our customers about the impact of aviation on the environment and to promote more sustainable travel practices.

She continued: “Recently, we surveyed our customers during an operational trial using sustainable aviation fuel. The results showed that our customers want to continue flying but in a more sustainable way.”

Wizz Air is aiming for a 25% reduction in CO2 intensity by 2030, with initiatives such as SAF trials.
