Mexican low fare carrier Viva Aerobus has purchased seven Tecnam aircraft to equip its new Pilot Academy. The order comprises six single-engine P2010TDI models and one multi-engine P2006T NG.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025. The aircraft will be usesd for a range of training, from Private Pilot License (PPL) to commercial pilot training, including CPL(A), IR(A), and MEP(L), as well as integrated ab-initio commercial pilot training.

Viva also holds options for additional aircraft, comprising three twin-engine and twelve single-engine Tecnam models. Initially, the academy will train two groups of 25 students annually, with plans for future expansion. The programme will operate alongside Viva’s existing Pilot Cadet Programme.
