Vietnam Airlines has taken delivery of the first of three A320neo aircraft, adding the single-aisle aircraft to its mixed aircraft fleet.

The aircraft, which has 182 seats, is configured in a two-class layout: eight Business Class seats and a 174-seat Economy Class cabin. The A320neo includes next-generation engines, which result in 16% fuel savings, 75% noise reduction and 50% lower emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft.

The airline operates 100 routes to 21 domestic and 29 international destinations. This new A320neo is expected to serve on domestic routes to destinations like Hanoi to Dalat, Hanoi to Phu Quoc, and Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa.

The airline said that the introduction of this A320neo reaffirms its commitment to fleet modernisation and operational enhancement, allowing it to meet increasing travel demand during a busy summer season.

The airline is also expected to receive Boeing 787-10s Dreamliner aircraft shortly. Currently. Vietnam Airlines has four 787-10s in its fleet and eleven of the older 787-9s.
