Vietjet last weekend celebrated the resumption of a series of international flights from Vietnam to New Delhi, Bali and Seoul.

The Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi flight departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport on April 29 and the Hanoi to New Delhi service took off on April 30, marking the airline’s return to the world’s second most populous country for the first-time post-pandemic.

The first passengers boarding the relaunched flights to India were greeted and presented with flowers and welcoming gifts at Noi Bai International Airport by the leaders of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration and Vietjet. The two services from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to New Delhi are now operated with thrice-weekly flights and steadily increased to daily flights starting from June.

Vietjet’s other international services connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Indonesia’s tourist paradise, Bali, and connecting Da Nang to Seoul were also resumed on 28 and 29 April respectively, offering flyers with more cost-and-time-saving options the chance to enjoy international travel vibes post-pandemic.

Mr Dinh Viet Phuong, Vietjet’s Managing Director, said: “Our relaunch of direct routes from Vietnam to India, a country of 1.4 billion people, shortly after the pandemic and other international services to South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia among others reaffirm Vietjet’s efforts and commitments to offer flying opportunities for everyone, working as a bridge for cultural, economic and social exchanges among the countries while leading the wave of strong post-pandemic recovery.”
