Vietnam-based low-cost carrier Vietjet has welcomed an Airbus A321neo ACF aircraft to its fleet, with the airline saying it is the world’s first 240-seat A321neo ACF.
The A321neo ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex) helps reduce fuel consumption by 16% as well as reducing noise and emissions by up to 75% and 50% respectively, according to the airline.
The aircraft arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and will be operated immediately on Vietjet’s mid-haul flights.

Earlier this month the airline released its financial statement for the first six months of the year, noting that passengers on international routes increased by 35%. In the first half of the year, the airline opened nine international routes to Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China and three domestic routes. On this the airline said “International markets have had room to grow, good profit margin thanks to ancillary revenue growth as well as a low fuel cost advantage and an increase in foreign currency sources.
The airline continued, “According to aviation statistics, Vietjet maintained its leading position in the domestic market with 44% market share while Vietnam Airlines had 35.9%, Jetstar Pacific had 13.9%, Bamboo Airways had 4.2% and 2% of VASCO.
