Swedish local air carrier Västflyg has launched a new Stockholm Arlanda Airport–Trollhättan Vänersborg Airport route, starting from 2 October 2024 and operating twice weekly.

“I’m very happy that Västflyg chooses to further expand and add another of Swedavia’s airports to their offer,” said Elizabeth Axtelius, Director of Aviation Business at Swedavia. “And a new domestic route is, of course, extra welcome. A strong domestic flight is essential for people to be able to meet across the country and have smooth connections to the rest of the world, whether travelling to meet friends and family, discover new places or on business.”

Västflyg is working to improve regional transportation in Sweden. With another route from Bromma Airport to Trollhättan Värnersborg Airport, it aims to provide enhanced connectivity to Stockholm for commuters and travellers.

“We see that there is a strong demand to be able to travel from Trollhättan and further out into the world,” said Anna Petre, CEO of Västflyg. “Today, there are direct flights from Arlanda to many destinations that our immediate area cannot offer. This means that we are extra happy to be able to present Arlanda as a destination which enables easier and faster travel for our customers.”

Västflyg operates a Saab 340 aircraft and has pledged to use 30-50% blended SAF.
