Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam has agreed a deal to supply US Aviation Academy, a prominent flight training institution based in the United States, with 38 aircraft in a significant expansion of its training fleet.
The order includes P2010 single-engine aircraft and P2006T MkII twin-engine aircraft to be delivered between now and the first quarter of 2026. The academy has also secured an option for an additional 52 Tecnam aircraft for delivery in 2026 and 2027.
The new aircraft will feature the Lycoming IO-360 engine in the P2010 and the Rotax 912S3 in the P2006T MkII.
US Aviation Academy, established in 2006, operates a fleet of approximately 175 aircraft across multiple bases and trains 1,500 students in both aircraft maintenance and flight operations. The academy provides pathways to major carriers, including Southwest Airlines.
The P2010, known for its advanced avionics and handling, will be used for instrument flight rules (IFR) training, while the P2006T MkII will provide students with essential multi-engine operating experience.
Scott Sykes, Director of US Aviation Academy, stated, “The Tecnam P2010 and P2006T MkII are exceptional training aircraft that offer advanced avionics, reliability, and the performance required for a comprehensive pilot training program.”
Giovanni Pascale Langer, Tecnam’s Managing Director, commented, “The selection of the Tecnam P2010 and P2006T MkII aircraft underscores the academy’s dedication to excellence in flight training.”
