Textron Aviation has announced that its Cessna SkyCourier turboprop has received its type certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
This latest certification expands the aircraft’s ability to support operational activities in remote areas of Southeast Asia. The first SkyCourier – a 19-seat variant – is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025 to Philippine company Leading Edge Air Services Corporation (LEASCOR), a subsidiary of ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative.
LEASCOR serves as the air charter arm of the ACDI, and the addition of the SkyCourier will complement ACDI’s present fleet. Textron is certifying this passenger variant globally, having gained Brazilian certification in August 2023 and aiming for EASA certification in 2025.
Major General Gilbert S. Llanto, ACDI MPC Chairman, said: “It will surely boost our business lines in tourism, agriculture and food, aviation, mobility and the construction industry across the archipelago.”
