TAP’s Chief Operating Officer received the award, and he said: “These awards reflect the importance of the South American and African markets for the Company and also the work we have done to strengthen this position. We work every day to make the Company better. We’re going to be 80 years old next year, and for 80 years, we’ve been able to maintain this leadership, and we hope we can continue to serve our customers in the best possible way.”
The prize winner was selected via an online voting platform used by tourism and travel professionals such as travel agents, operators, and tourism organisations, as well as the general public.
Currently, TAP has 80 weekly flights from Porto and Lisbon to destinations in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Morocco, Senegal, Gambia and Ghana. The airline also has 87 weekly flights to Brazil from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis and Manaus, as well as connecting Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It also has a route to Venezuela, from Funchal to Caracas.
