MRO specialist SR Technics has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) as an affiliate member.

ALTA’s role includes safeguarding the interests of the region’s aviation industry by facilitating the development of safer, more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly air transport.

Swiss-based SR said the membership would provide it with a seat at the association’s technical committee meetings and allow it “to present its products directly to member airlines. In addition, SR Technics will have access to the information and statistics the association collects on trends in LATAM.”

Michael Sattler, chief commercial officer, said he looked forward “to becoming a part of the association’s network with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices with industry experts. Additionally, the membership will provide us with further insight into the Latin American and Caribbean aviation community to better serve our customers and to explore new market opportunities in the region.”

“We are pleased to welcome SR Technics and their MRO expertise to ALTA’s growing membership,” said ALTA’s executive director, Luis Felipe de Oliveira. “We look forward to SR Technics joining our association’s collaborative efforts in furthering our industry activities to continue advancing social and economic development throughout the Latin America and Caribbean region. We are happy to see the base of our associates growing and showing interest in our region, proving confidence for sustainable growth in this part of the world.”

ALTA’s member airlines represent more than 86% of the region’s commercial air traffic.
