Low-fare carrier Scoot has said it will welcome its third and fourth E190-E2 aircraft in September and October 2024.

With the additions of these new jets, Scoot will then launch services to two new Southeast Asian destinations: Kertajati in Indonesia and Malacca in Malaysia. Flights to Kertajati will start on 28 September, twice weekly, and Malacca will start on 23 Oct, five times a week.

Scoot will also deploy the new E190-E2s on some existing services, including twice-weekly flights to Pekanbaru and increased flights to Balikpapan and Makassar from October 2024. In November, the jets will operate nine times weekly flights to Davao – an increase from seven weekly – and in December, flights to Vientiane will increase from three to four times weekly.

Mr Leslie Thng, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Since the launch of our E190-E2 aircraft in May, we continue to see strong demand for our flights, which have connected many of our customers to/from our various destinations across Southeast Asia.”

With these new destinations, Scoot will operate 78 weekly flights to Indonesia and 115 weekly flights to Malaysia by October 2024. The network will expand to 72 destinations, providing more direct connections to travellers across Southeast Asia.

In February 2023, Scoot placed an order for nine E190-E2s to be delivered via lessor Azorra. In May 2024, it received its first E190-E2 jet and expects the remaining five in 2025.
