Scoot, the low-fare subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is increasing operations from its Singapore hub in anticipation of increased winter demand.
From November, the airline will operate extra weekly flights to Thailand’s Chiang Mai and Hanoi in Vietnam, increasing flights from 10 to 11 a week and five to six a week, respectively.
From December, Australian-bound services to Perth will increase from 13 to 14 times weekly and extra services to Melbourne will bring the number of flights to 13 times a week, and then twice daily from January 2025.
The carrier will also add three weekly flights to Seoul (Incheon) via Taipei, making it a daily service and services to Tokyo (Narita) via Taipei will increase from 12 to 14 times weekly.
Regionally, Scoot will be adding flights to destinations served by its Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. These include Davao in the Philippines, which will increase from seven to nine times weekly. Flights to the Indonesian cities of Balikpapan and Makassar will each increase from three to four times weekly.
Scoot recently started operating daily services to Subang in Malaysia from 1 September, and it will be launching operations to Kertajati (Greater Bandung) in Indonesia on 28 September and Malacca in Malaysia on 23 October.
However, services to Ningbo in east China will end, with the last flight on 26 October.
Calvin Chan, Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We are happy to announce more flights to popular destinations such as Australia, Japan, and South Korea in the Northern Winter season to cater to higher demand, especially during the holidays and festive season. We will continue to seek new opportunities, remain nimble in our aircraft deployment to match demand, and provide our customers with greater convenience and enjoyable travel journeys with Scoot.”
