Low-fare carrier SCAT Airlines has launched a direct flight from Budapest Airport to Shymkent, Kazakhstan, twice a week, using a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200. This marks SCAT Airlines’ first route at the airport, and Budapest Airport’s first route to the destination.

“We are thrilled to welcome SCAT Airlines and celebrate the launch of this direct route to Shymkent,” said Markus Klaushofer, CCO at Budapest Airport. “This new service not only strengthens our network but also opens up valuable travel opportunities for both business and leisure passengers.”

Budapest Airport has been making significant efforts to boost its connections to Central Asia and create tourism, business, and trade ties between Hungary and Kazakhstan.
