SAS, the Scandinavian flag carrier, has signed an agreement with Braathens Regional Airlines (BRA) and announced new regional routes and destinations.

“Building from Arlanda Airport, this partnership strengthens Swedish infrastructure, connecting local communities to the world and fostering greater global accessibility and opportunities,” said Anko van der Werff, President and CEO of SAS. “We’re thrilled to open new routes to Halmstad, Kalmar, and Sälen and look forward to continue closely collaborating with local airports and regional partners to ensure the success of these routes.”

The partnership, a wet lease, allows BRA to operate several aircraft on behalf of SAS, further expanding the airline’s capacity on main routes from Stockholm Arlanda to destinations within Sweden. The new routes, Kalmar, Sälen, and Halmstad, will enter service from January 2025. Existing destinations, including Visby, Malmö, Ängelholm-Helsinborg, Ronneby, and Göteborg, will see a substantial increase in departure frequency per week.
