At its Rzeszów site, the company will construct a new facility that will house specialised capabilities for processing isothermally forged parts, including heat treatment, sonic machining and inspection operations.
This expansion follows and supports the recently announced USD 200 million investment in a seventh isothermal forging press at Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge facility in Georgia, US.
These capital projects, which are expected to be fully operational by 2028, will enable a 30% increase in output of critical engine parts, such as rotating compressor and turbine discs.
Pratt & Whitney currently operates four main production facilities in Poland, with the country representing parent company RTX’s largest investment and employee base outside the United States.
Piotr Owsicki, General Manager of Pratt & Whitney in Rzeszów, said: “This investment reflects our continued commitment to increase production capacity for our customers and deliver more, faster. Expanding our presence in Poland allows us to build the strategic capabilities needed to produce key technologies for advanced commercial and military aircraft engines across both current and future platforms.”
Meanwhile, Pratt & Whitney Canada has this week celebrated the official opening of its new manufacturing facility in Nouaceur’s Midparc Industrial Zone in Morocco’s Casablanca-Settat region.
The 130,000-square-foot site will produce detailed static and structural machined parts for Pratt & Whitney Canada’s aircraft engines, including the PT6 engine family.
The new facility is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs by 2030 and add critical production capacity to support Pratt & Whitney customers’ growing need for quality and dependable engines.
Maria Della Posta, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, said: “This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers. Through close collaboration with local organisations, we’re developing the next generation of aerospace professionals, investing in the communities in which we operate and helping reinforce Morocco’s position as a leader in the aerospace industry.”
