Porter Airlines has begun its service between Edmonton and Toronto Pearson, with the former being the first destination in Alberta to be added to the airline’s network.

The service on this route will start with one daily, non-stop return flight, and will increase to three daily flights by 1 May. Services to Calgary and Halifax will also start later this month.

The flights will be operated by Porter’s new Embraer E195-E2 jets, the first five of which were delivered from December 2022 into the new year out of a total of 50 ordered. More space is provided for passengers on this jet, as the airline has elected to use a 132-seat, two by two configuration.

Passengers will also enjoy complimentary beer and wine, premium snacks, and free Wi-Fi onboard, as part of the airline’s efforts to boost its premium onboard offering.

“The Toronto-Edmonton route is an opportunity for us to introduce Porter’s elevated economy travel experience to the Edmonton community,” said Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines.

“We’re proud to be part of their [Porter’s] launch into the region and look forward to a strong partnership,” added Myron Keehn, President and CEO, Edmonton International Airport.
