Porter Airlines has unveiled its updated premium in-flight services, featuring partnerships with high-quality Canadian brands.
The airline’s updated onboard experience aims to transform expectations for economy air travel. The airline selected its food and beverage partners based on locality, quality ingredients, brand alignment and focus on sustainability.
Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Porter Airlines, expanded on the airline’s choice of partners: “All of our food and beverage partners are Canadian, deeply passionate about their craft and have strong relationships within their communities.
“With a focus on high-quality products, generous service and competitive prices, our passengers will experience economy air travel in a way that no other airline is offering,” he said.
The introduction of the updated in-flight services coincides with the airline’s plans to use its new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to grow in markets throughout North America. The new aircraft and in-flight amenities will launch on 1 February.
Porter Airlines’ signature service, PorterClassic, offering complimentary beer and wine served in glassware as well as premium snacks, will continue on flights from both the new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and the De Havilland Dash 8-400.
During long-haul E195-E2 flights, the airline’s new all-inclusive economy experience, PorterReserve, will offer fresh food made with healthy ingredients, including chia smoothie bowls, tropical salmon poke and soba noodle bowls. There will be additional vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available on every flight.
The new menu design aims to reduce and eventually eliminate single-use plastics onboard, providing biodegradable cups and cutlery as well as eco-friendly packaging.
Passengers flying on the E195-E2 aircraft will also have access to free WiFi provided by Viasat Inc, as well as West Entertainment’s in-flight entertainment content, including movies, TV series, children’s programming and documentaries.
