This new service will be Porter’s first route to Arizona and will operate daily from each airport using the airline’s E195-E2 fleet. Porter currently operates a fleet of over 65 Embraer E195-E2 and Dash 8-400 aircraft.
“This inaugural flight from Toronto to Phoenix builds on Porter’s growing Western US presence – now with service in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego and San Francisco,” said Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines. “Our unique approach to economy air travel is something that Arizona will welcome as we continue delivering on our promise of making flying better.”
The Canadian regional airline has been expanding its portfolio of services recently, having announced a Toronto Pearson International Airport to Thunder Bay International Airport route, set to debut in October.
“We are pleased to welcome Porter Airlines to Phoenix. Porter brings an exclusive type of product to our market, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our ties with Canada,” commented Chad Makovsky, Aviation Department Director, City of Phoenix. “Canada continues to be a vital economic partner for our state, and we are eager to welcome more Canadians to experience Arizona.”
