Canadian regional carrier, Porter Airlines, has launched a new year-round service to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) starting on May 1, 2025 with up to three daily round trip flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

Operating from LaGuardia’s recently revamped Terminal B, the news service enables connections through Toronto Pearson to Porter’s domestic network including flights to Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.

Porter’s interline partnership with JetBlue provides passengers with access to numerous onward connections at LaGuardia, extending travel options across the southern U.S.

The new operation will use the airline’s new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft and all passengers can access complimentary, high-speed Wi-Fi plus a selection of complimentary premium snacks, and free beer and wine.  PorterReserve fares offer priority check-in, extra legroom seats, and ticketing flexibility, while these amenities can also be purchased individually with PorterClassic fares.

“We have built a strong passenger base over more than 15 years for those travelling between Canada and the New York metropolitan area,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “The addition of LaGuardia introduces a new dimension to our network, opening more options for existing customers and the ability to attract new ones within the busiest air service corridor connecting Canada and the U.S.”

The LaGuardia service will operate alongside Porter’s existing flights at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), where the airline has been operating a service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) since 2008.

In 2023, Porter expanded its Newark service to include flights from Ottawa International Airport (YOW). The combined operations at Newark and LaGuardia mean the airline will offer up to 15 daily round trips to the New York area.

The airline has also announced new nonstop route to Western Canada. Starting May 15, the service between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) will operate for the summer season with up to four weekly round trip flights.
