“This new Toronto-Pearson service will increase our passenger capacity in Thunder Bay by more than 10%, providing everyone with more options to fly with Porter,” said Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines. “Thunder Bay has been very loyal to Porter, and we are committed to providing the community with a variety of service options at competitive fares. We hope to increase flights on this route as we introduce more new E195-E2s into our fleet next year.”
Porter is the largest airline in Thunder Bay, operating from three Canadian Airports.
“On behalf of the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority, we are thrilled to welcome Porter Airlines’ new service to Toronto-Pearson,” said Graham Ingham, President and CEO of Thunder Bay Airport. “Since they arrived in 2009, Porter has significantly expanded their presence in Thunder Bay and has established itself as a key player in Canadian aviation. We are excited to continue our partnership with Porter and look forward to the new opportunities this expansion will create for our region.”
The Embraer E195-E2 configuration seats up to 132 passengers and has been used by Porter Airlines since its first delivery in early 2023. Since then, the airline has placed firm orders for 75 of the same aircraft and currently operates a fleet of over 65 Embraer E195-E2 and Dash 8-400 aircraft.
