A Philippines-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider has become the first Embraer Authorised Service Centre in the Asia-Pacific region to perform services for the Brazilian manufacturer’s E-Jets E2 aircraft range.
SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corporation (SIAEP) has three hangars in Clark, Philippines, and it has been an authorised Asia-Pacific service centre for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets since 2017.
SIAEP offers aircraft certification, scheduled heavy maintenance checks, airframe structural inspections, repairs, modifications, paint-stripping, painting of aircraft exteriors and Non-Destructive Testing checks.
The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), a provider of aircraft MRO services in Asia-Pacific. Its client base includes over 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers.
Frank Stevens, Vice President of Global MRO Centers for Embraer Services & Support, said the deal was integral to the company’s long-term plans.
“SIAEP has been a key partner for Embraer in the region in [recent] years. With this new agreement, SIAEP becomes even more strategic for the future of our company in the region as the E2 fleet grows. We are very pleased with this step ahead on our long-term partnership,” he said.
SIAEC’s Senior Vice President of Base Maintenance, Jeremy Yew, said: “We are delighted to extend our existing partnership with Embraer and play a key role in supporting their growth in the Asia-Pacific region. We look forward to providing quality and efficient base maintenance services to the E2 fleet at our facility in Clark.”
SIAEC is approved by 28 national aviation regulatory authorities to provide MRO services for aircraft registered in the United States of America, Europe, China and other countries.
