Low-fare carrier Peach Aviation, a subsidiary of ANA Holdings, is to become the first Japanese operator of the Airbus A321XLR. The development was confirmed at the Paris Air Show, where ANA Holdings finalised a firm order, reported in February by LARA, for 27 single-aisle Airbus aircraft, including three A321XLRs for Peach.
The deal, formally announced during a signing ceremony with Koji Shibata, Representative Director, President and CEO of ANA Holdings, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of Commercial Aircraft, is part of Peach Aviation’s strategy to enhance its fleet capabilities and expand its network.
The total order also includes 24 A321neo aircraft, with 14 going to All Nippon Airways (ANA) and the remaining 10 A321neos alongside the three A321XLRs for Peach.
Shibata expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We are delighted to have signed the firm order for the introduction of additional A321neo and first A321XLR into our group airlines. We believe that this additional introduction of Airbus aircraft will further deepen our relationship. . We will accelerate the introduction of state-of-the-art and fuel-efficient aircraft to provide our passengers with excellent service and to reduce CO₂ emissions.”
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry from Airbus highlighted the enduring partnership with ANA, said: “The exciting addition of the A321XLR for Peach Aviation further underscores ANA’s innovative spirit and trust in the A320 Family’s unrivalled4 capabilities.”
Deliveries of the new aircraft for Peach Aviation are scheduled to start in the FY 2032.
