Panasonic Avionics Corporation, the in-flight entertainment and connectivity company, has announced upgrades to its Arc in-flight map platform, making it more personalised and accessible.
The Arc platform is already in use on over 1,000 aircraft across 35 airlines. The enhancements are designed to transform the traditional in-flight map from a static display into a dynamic platform for “storytelling, inclusivity, and brand connection,” according to the company.
Patrick Biggerstaff, Senior Director of Product Management, Digital Solutions, at Panasonic Avionics, emphasised the changing demands of modern air travel.
Speaking at the World Aviation Festival this week in Lisbon, he said: “Passengers are looking for more engaging, personalized, and inclusive in-flight experiences, but traditional maps have often felt static and lacking in emotional or informational depth”.
The new features are now available to airlines globally and focus on dynamic passenger experience, stronger brand integration, improved accessibility, and broader integration across the IFE ecosystem.

Customisable Route Maps allow airlines to highlight their global networks and reinforce brand identity. Text scaling and color adjustments provide readability for passengers with visual impairments or colorblindness.
In addition, Arc Integration APIs enable airlines and third-party developers to bring map data to other passenger touchpoints like apps and portals, reducing integration complexity and speeding time-to-market.
