US flight training organisation Pan Am Flight Academy has acquired a Level D Boeing 737-NG Full-Flight Simulator.
The new simulator, equipped with CFM-56 engines and advanced visual systems, including a Heads-Up Display (HUD), is now operational at the Academy’s training centre at its Axis Park complex in Hialeah, Florida.
This latest addition brings Pan Am Flight Academy’s total simulator count to 23, with 10 of them housed at the Axis Park facility. The company plans to add another 10 simulators to this location.
“The introduction of this simulator underscores our dedication to meeting the growing demand for training in our industry and our commitment to setting new standards in aviation education,” said Jeff Portanova, President of Pan Am Flight Academy.
The simulator features Rockwell Collins/EP8000 visuals and HUD, enabling advanced training scenarios such as Autoland and rollout capabilities and is aimed at airlines and individual pilots seeking Initial Type Rating, Upgrade, Recurrent, and Requalification training.
Pan Am Flight Academy is based in Miami, Florida and was founded in 1980 as part of Pan American Airways. It has remained a major flight crew training establishment despite its parent organisation ceasing operations in 1991.
