Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) had over 2.2 million passengers in May, compared to just under 1.9 million over the same period last year.

The airline also increased its load factor by 1.5 per cent through the operation of 86 of the 139 Boeing 737s and De Havilland Canada Dash 8s in its fleet.

Norwegian Group’s other subsidiary, Widerøe, flew just over 350,000 passengers in May, up by nearly 35,000 from 2024.

Geir Karlsen, Norwegian’s CEO, said: “We are pleased to see May coming in with good traffic figures, including increased load factor and passenger numbers compared with last year. I am also pleased with another month of excellent on-time performance and regularity. Widerøe also performed very well in May.”

Norwegian Air Shuttle, the country’s largest airline with around 4,700 employees, operates an extensive network connecting Nordic countries to key European destinations, including direct flights to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, London-Gatwick, and Barcelona.
