Established in 2023 and obtaining its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in March 2024, the airline initially said on its website that it would operate charter flights to Asia, Europe and Africa. Since then, the airline has expanded, with new scheduled routes to commence in August 2024.
According to Aviation Week, Bees Airlines bought its name and branding from the previous Ukrainian low-fare airline, which operated between 2021 and 2022 but ultimately halted service due to Russia’s invasion of the country. A spokesperson clarified that there is no connection between the two companies and that Bees Airlines is 100% Romanian.
The new scheduled routes will include Bucharest to Verona, Prague, Tel Aviv, Heraklion and Baden-Baden, Suceava to Tel Aviv and Baden-Baden, and Chisinau to Verona.
“We are pleased to achieve one of the objectives we set ourselves when we founded the company, namely, to operate regular flights to as many destinations as possible,” said Victor Antohe, CEO of Bees Airlines. “Our development plans aim to increase the fleet, diversify the services and products offered on board Bees Airlines aircraft.”
The airline has placed its hub at Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport, operating a fleet of Airbus A320-232 aircraft.
