MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V., the leasing and asset management division of MTU Maintenance, has opened a new parts supply warehouse in Zhuhai, China. This marks the company’s third such facility, creating a logistics network that now spans the United States, the Netherlands, and Asia.

The new Zhuhai warehouse is strategically positioned to serve the rapidly growing aviation markets in China and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

It will provide a crucial supply of aftermarket materials for a range of key engine programmes, including the CFM56-5B/7B and V2500, offering support to regional operators and MRO providers.

The facility will be operated by Kuehne+Nagel, a global logistics leader, who will handle export, import, warehousing, and transportation.

“With warehouses strategically located around the globe, we are uniquely positioned to respond swiftly to customer needs, no matter where they are,” said Patrick Biebel, Managing Director at MTU Maintenance Lease Services. “The Zhuhai addition exemplifies our commitment to providing rapid and reliable access to essential engine parts, which minimizes operational downtime and ensures efficient support for our customers within China and the APAC region.”

The facility features bonded storage that guarantees parts shipment on the same day as the order or within a 24-hour timeframe, 365 days a year. Each shipment is accompanied by full digital documentation, ensuring compliance and traceability in a highly regulated industry. This speed is particularly critical in urgent situations, such as aircraft-on-ground events.

Damian Raczynski, Head of Contract Logistics, Asia Pacific at Kuehne+Nagel, said: “MTU Maintenance Lease Services operates in a highly dynamic and time-sensitive environment, and we are proud to provide the logistics expertise that supports their global operations and responsiveness”.

The opening of the Zhuhai warehouse follows a similar expansion in 2024 when MTU Maintenance Lease Services established a parts facility in Fort Worth, Texas, in partnership with PGL.
