Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation has begun negotiations with Mesa Air Group, the parent company of US regional carrier Mesa Airlines, for the sale of up to 100 Spacejet 100 aircraft.

The two companies have entered formal purchase negotiations by signing a MOU, which includes 50 firm orders and options for 50 more, with delivery of the first example due to begin in 2024.

The Spacejet M100 is the newer and smaller aircraft of the Mitsubishi Spacejet aircraft family, which was officially announced on 13 June 2019. The aircraft developed from what was a concept study of what was previously known as the MRJ170.

Mesa Airlines is a regional air carrier providing scheduled passenger service in the US. It operates all its flights as either American Eagle or United Express flights pursuant to capacity agreements with American Airlines and United Airlines.
