Lufthansa Technik has signed a 5-year agreement with Eurowings Technik to provide base maintenance support for Eurowings’ Airbus A320 family fleet.

Two lines at Lufthansa Technik Budapest and two additional lines at Lufthansa Technik Sofia will be dedicated to fulfil different letter checks on 40 Eurowings aircraft during the winter season. Eurowings currently operates over 100 aircraft of the A320 family, comprised of the A319, A320, A320neo, A321 and A321neo models.

The agreement will give Eurowings “the flexibility [they] need to get our fleet ready for the summer during the winter season,” said Matthias Gruber, Head of Technical Fleet Management at Eurowings and
Managing Director of Eurowings Technik.

“Based on our long-standing cooperation, we are delighted about the new base maintenance contract with Lufthansa Technik, which will enable us to continue to guarantee the high-quality standards in the technical reliability of our aircraft,” Gruber added.

Eurowings and Lufthansa Technik have enjoyed a long partnership, collaborating on component and engine services. Eurowings was also one of the first users of Lufthansa Technik’s AVIAAR, benefitting from this digital solution since 2019.

“The continued trust of Eurowings and the dedication of four lines demonstrates that our base maintenance services and aircraft modification programmes are tailored to our customer’s needs by thinking beyond the obvious,” added Marcus Motschenbacher, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Aircraft Maintenance Services at Lufthansa Technik.
