L3 Commercial Aviation is to launch a US-based airline training centre to provide Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) training courses and dry leasing options for airline customers in the Americas using L3’s RealitySeven Full Flight Simulators.

The training centre will be based in Arlington, Texas, near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and will be co-located with the L3 Link Training & Simulation headquarters and training centre.

Scheduled to open in October 2019, the centre will initially feature Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG RealitySeven FFS, along with classrooms, briefing rooms and supporting amenities.

“We are excited to make this commitment to L3’s operations and to grow our long-established pilot training presence in the US,” said Robin Glover-Faure, president of Commercial Training Solutions, which is part of L3 Commercial Aviation. “We look forward to welcoming current and new airline customers as we enhance aviation safety, performance and cost-efficiency. This investment reflects our confidence in the future of the commercial aviation sector and mirrors the growing demand for effective and efficient pilot training in the region and around the world.

The commercial airline training centre will supplement L3’s existing operations in the US, including the L3 Airline Academy in Sanford, Florida, which trains over 600 new civilian pilots a year.
