IndiGo, the Indian low-fare airline, has launched a new direct long-haul service connecting Mumbai with Copenhagen. The new route marks the airline’s entry into Scandinavia, significantly expanding its rapidly growing international network.
The new thrice-weekly service follows the successful launch of long-haul operations to Manchester and Amsterdam in July 2025. Copenhagen is now IndiGo’s fourth European destination, joining Istanbul, Manchester, and Amsterdam, with upcoming services to London and Athens already announced.
The flights are operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, acquired on a wet/damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. The wide-body jet features a dual-class configuration, including a premium economy product known as ‘IndiGoStretch,’ alongside its standard Economy Class.
“With the launch of our third long-haul route, between Mumbai and Copenhagen, IndiGo unlocks a strategic gateway to the Nordic region as we continue to deepen our presence in Europe,” said Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo. “This is a key step in our global growth journey ‘towards new heights, across new frontiers’ and a testament to our commitment to transforming from a major Indian airline to a global aviation player.”
The move reinforces IndiGo’s strategic goal of strengthening its position as a global airline, catering to the burgeoning demand for non-stop long-haul travel between India and key international markets.
