IndiGo has announced the doubling of flights from Delhi to three Central Asian destinations from August 2024 to meet growing traveller demand.

The airline, which started operations to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi in 2023, will now operate daily flights from the three destinations, up from the previous schedule of four flights a week to Tashkent, and three flights per week to Almaty and Tbilisi.

Mr Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said: “The launch of these flights signifies IndiGo’s dedication towards connecting people and places, fostering global connections, and enriching travel adventures. As India’s leading airline, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver an affordable, punctual, courteous, and hassle-free travel experience across an unparalleled network.”

This enhancement of its flight frequencies ties into IndiGo’s ongoing efforts to expand its international network and drive growth as a low-fare carrier, particularly in the Central and Southeast Asian regions.

Earlier in June, it launched a code-share with Japan Airlines and added daily direct flights from Delhi to Phuket in May 2024. In April, it entered the widebody space with an order for 30 Airbus A350 aircraft, defining its long-term future as India’s leading low-fare carrier.
