IndiGo, India’s LCC has chosen Insight Aviation as the partner for its future training needs. Insight will be responsible for selection of all future pilots for the airline.

According to a statement released by the airline, the theory element of training will be undertaken at Gurugram, India, while the flight instruction will take place at Insight Aviation’s flight training establishment at Port Alfred, South Africa.

“Upon returning to India, the Insight Aviation will oversee the conversion of the students’ South African CAA license into an Indian DGCA before they proceed to an authorised Aviation Training Organisation for a MCC and A320 Type Rating course”, IndiGo stated.

The airline has a fleet of 238 aircraft which provide more than 1,400 daily flights to 56 domestic and 19 international destinations. To meet the anticipated increased passenger demand IndiGo has nearly 350 Airbus A320 family of aircraft on order.

IndiGo operates with several other pilot training companies among them include CAE,  L3 and Skyborn.
