HAECO, a global aircraft maintenance provider, has delivered its 100th maintained Embraer E190 landing gear at its Xiamen, China facility and now plans to extend its services to cover the COMAC C909 regional jet.
Since 2017, HAECO and Liebherr-Aerospace have partnered to provide enhanced landing gear maintenance services for Embraer E-Jet E1 regional operators in mainland China.
Liebherr-Aerospace plans to support HAECO in expanding its landing gear overhaul services to include the Chinese-made COMAC C909 by the end of 2024.
“Celebrating the 100th delivery of a maintained E190 landing gear at our state-of-the-art facility in Xiamen is a proud moment for HAECO,” said Sandra Nieuwenhuijzen, Group Director of Component and Engine Services at HAECO Group. “Our partnership with Liebherr-Aerospace has been instrumental in enhancing our service offerings and meeting the growing demands of our customers in mainland China. We are eager to extend our expertise to the C909 as we adapt to the evolving market.”
Eric Thévenot, General Manager developing Customer Services at Liebherr in Shanghai, added, “We are pleased to have leveraged HAECO’s extensive in-house MRO expertise and state-of-the-art surface treatment capabilities, making high-value OEM engineering solutions available in China, that will include the COMAC C909. This collaboration has been instrumental in enhancing our services in China. By utilising OEM asset leasing solutions and inventory in Xiamen, we are able to meet on-time delivery requirements while ensuring operational efficiency for our Chinese airline customers.”
As demand for MRO services for COMAC aircraft grows, the companies say their partnership will ensure service capacity and landing gear support for fleet operators in mainland China and beyond.
